As a way to draw increased awareness and attention to some of the standup sponsorship opportunities on our site, we’ve set apart one blog per month to put the “Spotlight on Sponsorship”! If you have a premium level listing on SponsorPark, and would like to have your event featured, please contact [email protected] to submit your event, as we are currently looking to fill our 2013 Spotlight calendar. This month our spotlight shines on the “Athletes for College Scholarship Program.”

What is “Athletes for College Sponsorship Program.” all about?
Athletes for College Scholarship Program  was recently launched throughout the United States to help high school athletes receive scholarship offers to enable them to continue to play their sport of choice during college.
Athletes for College, is dedicated to helping student-athletes achieve their goals of playing at the collegiate level. Using their database technology, they can match skill level, grades and test scores to colleges in any part of the country.

What makes this opportunity unique?
According to AFC, there are more than 8 million athletes in the country. Less than 1% will receive a full scholarship to a Division I college. Most colleges below the Division I level have less than $1,000 in their recruiting budget. The recruiting process is complex and requires knowledgeable experts to maximize each student’s athletic and academic potential. That’s where AFC comes in.

Preferred partners?
The AFC program is a nonprofit.  AFC allows sponsors to choose the grade level, sport,  high school and anticipated major of the athletes they would like to sponsor.  This flexibility allows for a broad range of sponsor packages to be created and partnerships forged.
